One bedroom fully self-contained ground floor apartment, ten minutes walking from the coast.
We are a retired couple living in a quiet residential development in St. Philip, the most southern of the parishes of Barbados. The rocky coastline and bracing clifftop walks, with beaches below, are ten minutes walk away. Bottom Bay is the nearest beach, a picturesque post-card setting, quiet but is popular with the more adventurous tourists (and locals). Swimming is challenging, but there are some rock pools. We are one minute away from the main bus route, otherwise the hiring of a car is recommended.Our home has been built on the inland terrace, and it includes a one-bedroomed, fully self-contained ground floor apartment with spacious living area, which is fitted with a kitchenette, a bathing area with shower and massage tub, and a toilet.
We keep a well-maintained mature garden with coconut palms, frangipani and bougainvillea providing shade, and furnished with ample seating. There is a sunken open-air patio just outside the french door entrance to the apartment.
Clean towels are provided every day, and a maid service can be made available for a further charge. Malvina, a retired nurse, is Bajan born and bred, and skilled in home-cooking. Barry, a retired science teacher, is from England, UK. We both enjoy meeting people with an emphasis on our homely hospitality, and can prepare meals if required for a modest cost. Some food and drinks are complimentary on arrival, and we can arrange and pay for transport from and to the airport. However, the apartment is completely self-contained with independent and private access for anyone desiring full privacy.
