Located 20 kms south of Girona, one hour north of Barcelona, a safe 20 kms inland from Lloret de Mar and the other southern Costa Brava resorts. This is a magnificent estate originally dating from 1583, with 8,000m2 of gorgeous walled private gardens, 2 very large swimming pools, and a great poolside dining area seating over 50 guests (outdoor kitchen & bathrooms too). This is the kind of villa you might see on TV except that it really has a lot of old-world charm, with terra cotta floors, wooden ceiling beams, handpainted tilework, and nice details to please the eye everywhere. Beautiful garden, 2 big pools, BBQ, summerkitchen with ample seating area next to pool, terrace, plenty of common space for comfort, well equipped kitchen, separate dining room. Big salon, TV room, air conditioned bedrooms, big comfortable beds.
There are several convenient entrances on all 4 sides of the house. Of the 7 doorways connecting outdoors to indoors, it is hard to say which is the main entrance, but perhaps the main entrance opens onto the large central living room (65m2) with a fireplace, several sofas, and large sliding doors leading out to the back garden where the larger rectangular pool and main garden area is located. There are several other sitting rooms, including a sunny reading room (also with widescreen TV, fireplace, and the WIFI connection) with 2 sofas and wide french doors opening onto the garden.
Adjacent to the living room is a large dining room (45m2) with three tables (one table is circular, one is oval, and one is rectangular) seating about 24 and equipped with 3 full sets of silverware and plates and all kinds of glasses. The kitchen is amazingly well-equipped and includes a large fridge, an additional freezer, 2 large Miele dishwashers, 2 stovetops: one burning gas and the other electric (plus oven, plus microwave, and even an indoor barbecue!), not to mention the two separate sinks and many other extras.
On the other side of the dining room from the kitchen is a covered outdoor terrace with white-painted wrought iron chairs and tables under dripping blue wisteria and facing a venerable old Cedar tree. This outdoor dining area so close to the kitchen is ideal for al fresco breakfasts. Beyond the TV -reading room is an wide atrium under skylights and a handsome beamed roof and a large old cupboard full of information about the Costa Brava.
Beyond the rather spectacular atrium, on the ground floor there are 3 bedrooms and 2 batherooms separated by a hallway with yet another entrance and hallway. Going up the elegant wide staircase to the first floor, 6 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are distributed around the first floor stairway. Upstairs on the second floor, under the eaves, is a sort of slumber party room with three single beds and a low-window overlooking the pool. This room is popular with kids as it is all alone up here on the top floor.
All rooms are exterior, and all rooms except the second floor have washbasins. Again, all bedrooms have air conditioning with individual thermostat settings, plenty of closet space and night tables with reading lights. There are three additional single beds (real beds - not fold outs) stored in a utility closet just in case. All single beds are 90x190cm, so if pushed together make a good-sized double.
But by far the most extraordinary aspect of this house is the garden, which measures 8,000 square meters, and is tended by a full-time gardener year-round. On one side of the house is the shallow kiddy pool measuring 10 meters round, and on the other side of the house a large pool measuring 12.5 x 7, with maximum depth of 2.5 meters. Near the poolside is a very impressive covered barbecue area, with indoor or outdoor sitting for over 50 guests. Along with the barbecue, there is also an oven, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, and of course a double sink. Nearby is a little building with a two showers and two bathrooms so that you don't have to go indoors. Around the garden there are several places to sit and enjoy the peaceful and beautifully landscaped surroundings, and there are some games such as a badminton and a ping-pong table.

Notes On Prices:
Prices are all-inclusive and there are no extra or hidden charges of any kind. Saturday to Saturday bookings in mid and high season. Shorter bookings such as 3 or 4 nights are possible in the low-season only. Email for price info for shorter bookings. Credit card payment for reservation deposit of 25% of total rental fee is accepted. The remaining 75% is payable upon arrival.
