It has been our second home and therefore benefits from immaculate decorations and furnishings, with all the comforts of 'home' available to our guests.

As we also live in El Presidente, we will therefore be able to meet you personally on your arrival and to help you enjoy your holiday. Indeed an added advantage of there being quite a few full-time residents like us who are so fortunate to be living here, including others with children, in El Presidente is that it never feels like a ghost town but is instead a warm and welcoming holiday destination!!

El Presidente is a wonderful complex with very attractive and well maintained low rise Andalucian-style buildings and with five swimming pools, one of which is heated during most of the cooler months of autumn, winter and spring. It has extensive colourful and mature sub-tropical gardens with beautiful fountains and waterfalls that are lit at night, five tennis courts, two paddle-tennis courts, a basketball court, football pitch and two golf practice areas. Tennis lessons are available throughout the year. There are also two children's play areas and even a small soccer pitch! There are children's activities in the summer. Just a few minutes walk from our apartment is the beach where there are three chiringuitos (beach-bar restaurants) with fantastic views across the Mediterranean to Gibraltar and the coast of Africa - a particularly memorable place to enjoy the sunset and moonlit nights! There is also 24hr security, a lifeguard during the summer, free on-site parking and free sun loungers.

The area around Marbella is well known for its unique micro-climate which gives us over 300 days of sunshine each year as well as extremely pleasant temperatures, even in the summer months when elsewhere in Spain it can become unbearably hot!

Whilst the Costa del Sol is particularly renowned for its lovely beaches and wonderful Mediterranean lifestyle there is of course so much more to enjoy including beautiful countryside just a short distance away.

Slightly further afield are the historic cities of Seville, Granada and Cordoba, as well as the beautiful old town of Ronda. A particularly relaxing journey is aboard the scenic Steam Train from San Roque to Ronda with more than four hours to explore Ronda before returning.

Malaga too is also now definitely worth a visit and a great way to see the city is either on foot or by taking the Malaga Tour Bus which is a hop-on, hop-off open top bus which makes 13 stops around the city of Malaga allowing you to get off and enjoy the city’s sightseeing, monuments and museums, including the Picasso Museum, the Alcazaba and the castle of Gibralfaro.

Gibraltar is just 50 minutes away with its caves, apes, duty-free shopping and dolphin trips.

You can also take organised excursions including a day trip to Tangier in Morocco with a pick-up point just outside of our complex.

Skiing is possible in the Sierra Nevada near to Granada which is about a two hour drive away

A short drive away from El Presidente is Marbella and its lovely promenade and beach. Once it was just a fishing village but now it is known as “the pearl of the Costa del Sol” with its cosmopolitan population, international visitors and reputation for being one of the Coast's most aristocratic resorts.

Here you have the beautiful old town of Marbella with the Plaza de Naranjos (Orange Square) at its centre. Narrow white-washed pedestrianized streets feed off from it, bedecked with colourful and fragrant flowers, offering a wonderful chance to explore the hidden delights of Marbella as you come upon attractive courtyards, the walls of the old Moorish castle and beautiful churches set in picturesque squares. Also along these narrow lanes in Marbella's “Casco Antiguo” are numerous shops offering artisan gifts, designer clothes and so much more for both tourists and the local people of Marbella. Then when you feel the need to relax you can choose from one of the old town's many outdoor restaurants, shady cafes or tapas bars for a reviving drink, tasty snack or freshly prepared meal. Just remember that the spanish tend to eat later in the evening so if you want to enjoy the best atmosphere wait until about 9 pm.

Adjacent to Marbella's old town is the newer commercial area with the main thoroughfare of the Avda. Ricardo Soriano containing many internationally known shops, as well as branches of all the major banks. Larger shopping centres, such as La Cañada, with even more retail shops, are to be found just outside of Marbella and in Puerto Banus.

There are also a number of beautiful and tree lined parks, such as the Parque de Constitucion, where outdoor summer concerts and children's theatrical productions are put on.

Indeed because of the nearby mountains that protect Marbella from the cold winds of the north, we are able to benefit from a a very special micro-climate that gives us milder winters and slightly cooler summer nights than Malaga and the rest of the Costa del Sol receive. Consequently we are able to enjoy the out-door life of Marbella throughout the year without suffering from either the freezing cold or sweltering and unbearable heat experienced elsewhere in Europe! This is definitely a major advantage!!

The beaches of Marbella are great places to relax and the sea is safe to swim in. There is also a palm fringed, marble promenade that stretches from Marbella to Puerto Banus and along which there are numerous restaurants, bars and pavement cafes, many which offer very good food at reasonable prices and from where you can soak up the local atmosphere of Marbella.

Puerto Banus itself has enjoyed the reputation as the playground of the rich and there are certainly many sleek, beautiful and extremely expensive yachts moored along the quay side. There are also numerous restaurants and designer shops around the marina along with bars and night clubs, most of which that do not really get busy until the early hours of the morning continuing through to dawn, especially during the summer months. Two bars, Saldubas and Sinatras are particularly popular meeting points!

For those who would like to have a more active holiday, there are numerous options, many of which are listed on our own website. There are of course also the large number of golf courses that offer a very high standard of greens for golfers.

Close by there are also the lovely towns of San Pedro and Estepona which benefit from still maintaining their special spanish identity so that you can wander their lovely streets, many of which are pedestrianized and full of locals going about their normal lives and know that you really are experiencing the wonderful spanish culture.

A reasonably short drive from El Presidente are the beautiful white-washed hillside villages of Benahavis and Casares with their narrow streets, bars, excellent restaurants and artisan shops.

Five minutes away is Puerto Banus, with its fantastic marina and yachts, designer shops, fun night life, the renowned department store El Corte Ingles and dozens of waterfront bars and restaurants.

For children there is so much to do apart from the beaches and the swimming pools, including water parks, an aquarium, a wild animal safari park, a crocodile park and a zoo, boat trips to see the dolphins, water sports, go-karting and Tivoli World with its fun-fair and stage shows, plus so much more!
